Old Greenwich (Metro-North station)

The Old Greenwich Metro-North Railroad station serves the residents of the Old Greenwich section of Greenwich, Connecticut via the New Haven Line.
The station is from Grand Central Terminal. The station has 578 parking spaces, 397 owned by the state.〔()"Task 2: Technical Memorandum parking Inventory and Utilization: Final Report" submitted by Urbitran Associates Inc. to the Connecticut Department of Transportation, "Table 1: New haven Line Parking Capacity and Utilization", page 6, July 2003〕 Lot 3, with 181 spaces and across the street from the station, is owned by the town of Greenwich, which also owns the street parking north of Lot 1.〔()"Individual Station Report: Old Greenwich" submitted to the Connecticut Department of Transportation by Urbitran Associates, dated July 2003, accessed March 18, 2007〕
The station house, built in 1892, was moved to its present location three years later. The station was originally called the "Sound Beach Railroad Station", but its name was changed in 1931 to "Old Greenwich". The building was later placed on the National Register of Historic Places.〔Plaque in front of station building.〕
==Platform and track configuration==

This station has two slightly offset high-level side platforms, each six cars long. The northern platform, adjacent to Track 3, is generally used by westbound trains. The southern platform, adjacent to Track 4, is generally used by eastbound trains.
The New Haven Line has four tracks at this location. The two inner tracks, not adjacent to either platform, are used only by express trains.
